UCSB Psychology Course Credit Abroad Pre-Approval Database
This is a list of PSY breadth and 110+ pre-approved courses that can be taken abroad. Variables encompass country, UCEAP institution, partner subject/department, partner course number, partner course title, UCEAP subject, UCEAP course number, UCSB PSY course equivalent, units, and date course was approved by our department (if applicable – always updating).

The courses on this pre-approved database are not guaranteed to be offered during the time traveled abroad, and some courses may be updated or canceled.

This database includes pre-approved courses (courses students took in the past five years and received credit for). If there is a class that is not listed on the database, then students should gather syllabus from their UCEAP Institution before traveling abroad so UCSB PBS faculty can determine eligible course credit. Syllabus should provide teaching topics, course calendar, textbook/reading assignments, and detailed course descriptions. This should be emailed to [email protected] and the email should also list student name, perm, country/institution, course number and name, and what the student hopes the course may be equivalent to at UCSB. Further instructions and ways to petition course credit are available here.

Lastly, before going abroad, students are encouraged to meet with one of our PBS Advisors to discuss academic planning. If students have any additional questions pertaining to courses/pre-approved lists, please email PBS Advisors at [email protected]
